  • 2 paninis

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of pumpernickel bread
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. marinara, sundried tomato pesto, or basil pesto
  • 2 slice harvarti cheese
  • 2 tbsp. shredded mozzarella cheddar
  • 8 slices of pepperoni
  • 2 tbsp. crème fraîche/sour cream

Instructions

  1. Using a football shaped cookie cutter, cut out a football shape from each slice of bread. Butter the outside of each slice of bread.
  2. Carefully spread marinara or pesto on one slice of bread and top with meat and cheeses. Top with second slice of bread.
  3. Grill in pan or panini press for 3-4 mins on each side until bread is crispy and cheese is melted.
  4. Allow to cool slightly. Using a small frosting tip (or a small sandwich baggie with the end cut off), pipe the crème fraîche on top of the sandwiches in the shape of football laces. Serve immediately with marinara dipping sauce.
